Vegan desserts from Tea Hive, Manchester

I love my best friend. And food.

When I moved home two years ago, I didn’t really know what to do with myself. My ex and I had built up a routine for nearly 4 years, so it was hard to break from that. I was really lucky that during that time my best friend, Jo, was living around the corner from my parents house.

We pretty much filled our time with long walks, running, the gym, eating good food – but the thing I loved doing the most? Driving around in the sunshine.

We would dust off our sunglasses, crank up the radio, sing at the top of our lungs and go for coffee. I loved it so much. We would just be laughing constantly, and it got me back into a really good place.

So when the first decent sunshine of 2017 appeared, we dusted off our sunglasses. We cranked up the radio. We sang along to Disney. And we drove.

I also love food. So, we drove to Chorlton in Manchester, and wandered into book shops, charity shops, just chatting. Then we came across the Tea Hive and sat outside for lunch.

I won’t lie guys, I was a bit naughty. I had mayonnaise. I forget how hard it is to go completely no eggs no dairy straight away, okay?! It’s my weakness. I just love the food too much.

Why Tea Hive is great!

The Tea hive is so cute. There is metal garden furniture outside in the sunshine for you to sit, enjoy coffee and their huge selection of cakes and other amazing food. Seriously, it’s so rare I can go into a cafe and have an option of vegan cakes.

We ordered some early dinner (I had a BLT, no T ‘cos I find big ass tomatoes threatening and Jo had feta cheese and poppy seed salad). It was so tasty.

I will definitely go back there, especially in the sunshine. I’m so excited to sit outside, having a coffee and people watching with my best friend all over again.

So if you’re ever in Manchester, and fancy a little cute cafe, please check out Chorlton. There are so many cute cafes and restaurants for you to try!
