Kenyon Hall Farm

My obsession with fruit & veg grows (pun intended).

I now venture far and wide for the perfect avocado. The plumpest tomato. The…longest cucumber? *ahem*.

So today, whilst the sun was out and my mother had a day off work, we ventured to Kenyon Hall Farm in Warrington, Cheshire. It’s the first time I’ve ever been to a place like it. It’s all home made or home grown food, with a cafe and a garden centre.

They had a huge variety of foods – cakes, scones, jams, sauces, chocolate, biscuits – there was so much to choose from. It all looked yummy as well! I was also hugely impressed by the variety of vegan foods available, lots of gluten free variety.

This is definitely a great place to go if you’re looking to eat all natural or if you’re a stickler for knowing exactly where your food comes from.

I bought theĀ biggest cucumber I’ve ever seen. And it was only 90p, the same price as ASDA, but much bigger, home grown and so fresh. I also bought an avocado (of course), some home made strawberry Jam and vegan orange chocolate cake slices.

It’s also a great feeling not to buy from a chain, knowing that the money will go to support someone who owns a small business.

We sat in the cafe with a Dandelion & Burdock, munching away on cinder toffee and chatting in the sun. Then we went for a walk around the garden centre also and saw the prettiest flowers – some I’d never even seen before!

It’s such a lovely place – I’d really recommend going there if you live in the area or if you’re nearby. I didn’t get to try the food in the cafe as I’d already eaten, but it looked lovely. The atmosphere was great, all the staff we’re really friendly and welcoming.

Do you visit any local farm shops? Or know of any farm shops in Cheshire that you could recommend? Let me know!
